Can you accommodate a short-notice shiva order?
We understand that shiva arrangements often come together quickly. Standard orders need 24 hours' notice; sooner by phone or text only at (858) 353-5528. Call or text us as soon as you can, let us know what you need, and we will do everything we can to fulfill your order.
What is included with the platters? Do you provide plates and utensils?
Yes. Each order includes white plastic plates, napkins, serving utensils and utensil sets at no extra charge. For sandwich and deli platters, condiments, pickles and olives are included. Everything is ready to serve immediately.
Can you deliver to a synagogue, funeral hall or private home?
We deliver to all locations — synagogues, funeral halls, private homes, and anywhere else the family is sitting shiva. Just provide the address when you order, and we will set up everything. Delivery is priced by drive time ($19.95 to $74.95).
Are you kosher certified, or do you offer kosher-style food?
We prepare a kosher-style deli menu and are very familiar with shiva customs. We are not a kosher kitchen and can't guarantee meat and dairy separation. If your family requires certified kosher food, please choose a certified kosher caterer.
Do you offer vegetarian, gluten-free, or other dietary-restricted options?
Vegetarian choices are on every menu, including fruit and vegetable platters. We can't make substitutions or allergy accommodations: onion and garlic are in most dishes and everything is prepared in shared pans, so we can't promise gluten-free food. Nuts are used in our kitchen and bakery, so we can't promise nut-free food.
What is the minimum order? Can we order for a smaller family?
We recommend a 10-guest minimum for most shiva platters to ensure good value and variety. However, we are flexible and understand that every family is different. If your family needs something smaller, please call or text us at (858) 353-5528 and we will work with you.
Do you deliver, or can we pick up?
We deliver across San Diego County to homes, synagogues and funeral halls, including our main service areas (ZIPs 92121, 92122, 92130, 92037, 92126, 92127, 92128, 92101, 92123, 92111, 92108, 92064, 92014, 92067). Setup, plates, napkins and utensils are included. Delivery is priced by drive time ($19.95 to $74.95), and online orders carry a 3% service fee.
